Up Close Organic Forms

I was looking through Allegra's book the other day and she had done the photos of her painting up close, i thought that this idea could be interesting on the recent painting i did. Especially in the theme of organic shapes and origins, i especially like the colours!

My Shell Drawing. IN BIG!

So i took the sketches i did of shells and turned them into a big chalk and charcoal picture on the big neutral colored paper. I plan to do a few more similar sketches, again using the same paper and materials.

Bulgari Exhibition

This exhibition is amazing!
I went with my mummy and sisters yesterday and we all came out saying "OH MY GOD, that was great!"
I think that maybe it may be more a girly thing, but really worth it.
I think it is on in Rome all summer and basically it is a timeline of Bulgari jewelery and they are exquisite!

MY ELEPHANT!

This is a painting i have been doing on and off for a while but finished like 20 minutes ago.
It is quite simple .... an elephant. However i decided to be adventourous with the colour scheme.
I have yet to decide whether the colours work or whether they are too much!?!
Of course it looks quite different in real because lots of the brush storkes are very thick, so they create shadows and other shapes.
But it was a painting i REALLY enjoyed doing, and painted more for myself than for the IB criteria!

So while i was up in Capalbio last weekend i went for the first time to the Nicki de Saint Phalle sculpture park, on of the reasons being because my little sister alice made a really cool video in art and so i though i should go. Having spent about three hours there on saturday i took my sister alice to see it on sunday and here are some photos and sketches from the two visits.

INSPIRATION ... or lack of!

So i have kinda been lacking a bit of inspiration recently in my art work. Don't get me wrong, i love the little water colours that i am painting and scratching into, however i am lacking inspiration for more work. And i am kinda dry of ideas, so i did what i always do when i am lacking ideas, i went onto my favourite photography blog, the sartorialist. AND I FOUND INSPIRATION. I am now going to do some really funky collage pages, full of colour and pattern and photos as inspiration for my summer work.

B&W Photogrpahs of Rome

Here are the photographs i took of the sunset over Rome, they help me appreciate what a beautiful city we will live in. Because i like the colours so much i decided to leave the photos completly unedited (excpet for a few sneaky crops) because i think then they have a raw beauty, like Rome. Here are the Black and White ones, and the coloured ones will shortly follow.
