This is a painting i have been doing on and off for a while but finished like 20 minutes ago.
It is quite simple .... an elephant. However i decided to be adventourous with the colour scheme.
I have yet to decide whether the colours work or whether they are too much!?!
Of course it looks quite different in real because lots of the brush storkes are very thick, so they create shadows and other shapes.
But it was a painting i REALLY enjoyed doing, and painted more for myself than for the IB criteria!
That is a great piece of painting - really great use of colour, line and brushwork. The elephant motif is a surprise, but if you can work it into your theme so much the better. In the first year of IB Art at SGBIS there was a girl who did ONLY elephants and got a 7. How big is this ?
